Beth Houghton named Changemaker of the Year
Beth Houghton has been named winner of the inaugural ‘Changemaker of the Year award’, at The North West Rainmaker Awards 2019.
Now in its fourth year, the Rainmakers Awards are different because the winners are voted on by the corporate finance community in a one firm, one vote system. This year an extra category has been added to reflect the changing nature of the corporate finance sector. The Changemaker of the Year award recognises the work of an individual who has done their best to make a difference when it comes to diversity, equality and inclusion.
The accolade Beth received reflects the outstanding impact she has made to address diversity, equality and inclusion. With the support of her team Palatine raised the Impact Fund in 2017 in light of their award winning responsible investment management approach. The sole purpose of the fund is investing in businesses that can show a strong financial return whilst creating positive and sustainable social and/or environmental impacts. The focus is on supporting ambitious management teams that are committed to making a difference. The businesses must be able to deliver a clear social or environment impact – or both, and have the potential to magnify the scale of this impact and returns with appropriate guidance and investment.
