Palatine+
Our positive equity community
We see private equity as a force for good and have always sought to create the conditions for that core idea to flourish in our business – and beyond – through our approach, programmes, actions, networks and more.
This space highlights how we bring together people, ideas, and know-how to create positive outcomes for businesses and the wider community. We’re doing this across four areas of activity: collaboration (for better business and a better world) inclusivity (by learning sharing, and joining in with initiatives that make a difference) enabling (people and businesses to show leadership and contribute to sustainability) and innovation (to address opportunities and challenges in a fast-changing world).
Collaboration:
Creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration and knowledge-sharing between our portfolio businesses and our network of highly skilled subject specialists is a cornerstone of Palatine’s approach to driving growth.
We create dedicated events and tailored communication platforms to facilitate connections on which collaboration can grow.
Inclusion and Diversity
We are committed to promoting a culture that empowers people by providing a working environment where an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce are valued and expected. The culture is one of trust, fairness and diverse perspectives, and people are at the heart of everything we do. To enable this and to drive positive change, we have an Inclusion and Diversity working group with representation across the company.
Alongside this, we recognise that employers have never had a greater responsibility to prioritise mental health, both in how they operate and how they communicate. At Palatine, we have six qualified Mental Health First Aiders and a Health and Wellbeing working group dedicated to supporting our team and fostering a positive, open office environment.
Our I&D guiding principles
- We make inclusion a reality in all we do.
- We provide a supportive working environment.
- We provide equal opportunities for all employees.
- We build awareness of the barriers to achieving an inclusive and diverse workplace.
- We remove the barriers to an inclusive and diverse workplace through inclusive recruitment.
- We speak out against non-inclusive behaviour.
- We use our platform to influence the development of inclusive mindsets.
- We expect everyone to adopt a growth mindset to overcome any uninformed actions.
- We measure progress and make data-led decisions around I&D.
Reduced Inequalities Charity
In 2025 we chose to support charities that align with Sustainable Development Goal 10, which aims to reduce inequality. Here are some of the initiatives we did in 2025:
- We are funding three University of Manchester students through the Manchester Access Programme.
- We volunteered at Manchester Young Lives Centre in Wythenshawe and ran a careers workshop for the young adults who use the centre.
- We donated IT equipment and a defibrillator to Manchester Young Lives’ Wythenshawe centre.
- We supported New Horizon with Apple gift cards and funding for their End Homelessness event.
- We raise money for charity every time we shop through our partnership with easyfundraising.
- We hosted charity darts nights across Manchester, London and Birmingham, with all proceeds going to good causes.
- We funded a series of workshops delivered by State of Mind for City in the Community’s service users.
- We have offered Carbon Literacy Training to all our charity partners, helping their teams build knowledge around carbon reduction.
Enabling
We believe upskilling, knowledge sharing, and capacity building are essential to growing sustainable businesses.
We were the first private equity firm to become a carbon literate organisation, and since achieving Silver-level accreditation we have educated over 250 people within Palatine, our portfolio companies and our investors.
We also hold educational events throughout the year including our Functional Forums, full and half day sessions for our portfolio teams with industry experts, and our Value Bites meetings, where we invite guest speakers to host calls on value enhancement topics.
There is an increasing amount of peer collaboration to help effect change in the industry. The associations we have joined forces with can be found below
Doing the right thing matters a lot to us. The environment is a key part, we need to protect our planet but it’s also about helping the communities in which we operate and supporting future generations to thrive. We’re in a privileged position in business and we inherently encourage giving back.
