Palatine Strengthens Impact Fund Team
PALATINE, the leading mid-market private equity firm, has appointed Greg Holmes as an investment manager in its Impact Fund team based in Manchester.
Palatine’s award-winning Impact Fund was launched in 2017 and invests in profitable businesses making a positive impact on the environment or society.
The returns-focused £100m fund, one of the first dedicated to impact investments in the UK mid-market, supports management buyouts, growth capital and buy-and-build models, investing £5m up to £10m, and has so far completed five deals.
Greg, 30, has nine years’ experience in the North West corporate finance market, having spent five years with Big Four advisory firm PwC and then three-and-a-half years with NorthEdge Capital in Manchester.
His appointment follows that of London-based Impact Partner Tristan Craddock, who joined the firm in May from Rutland Partners.
Beth Houghton, Partner and Head of Impact at Palatine Private Equity, said: “Impact investing is at the heart of our approach at Palatine, and with an increased focus on sustainability and social impact from both investors and management teams, we have a strong pipeline of activity.
“We’re therefore really pleased that Greg has joined our team and I’m sure he’ll make a strong contribution in the coming months as we complete more deals.”
Greg, who is a keen runner in his spare time, lives in Manchester city centre. Originally from Southport, he studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Palatine is at the forefront of impact investing and I am delighted to be joining a firm with such clear vision and understanding of how the investment market is evolving.
The opportunity to work with businesses that create positive change within society and the environment was a major draw for me and I am looking forward to working with the team on new and existing investments.
